#REAPER MEET UP

If the Reapers are expecting to be teleported into a shady corner by a ten year old again, they may be in for surprise. Instead, they'll wake suddenly, with their IC rulebook in their hand and open to a page in the back -- which contains a note that's only visible to them. "Reapers! Today's meeting will be at the IKEA restaurant at 7 AM sharp! There's coffee and snacks for everyone, so don't be late!" When they arrive at the IKEA restaurant, at 07:00, they'll find themselves walking into a private area of IKEA, with a door that closes and locks behind them once everyone is inside. The foreboding feeling usually present is missing entirely. And, true to form, there's comfortable seating, all manner of IKEA food, and beverages laid out for anyone and everyone to indulge in. Rather than the usual restaurant, the room is occupied by comfortable furniture from the showrooms. Once again, there's music looping forever. Try not to go insane. Already seated (and eating), is Maya Fey, very much alive, who enthusiastically waves them over as she shoves another forkful of meatballs into her mouth. "Hey guys! Undine is kind of stuck there for a moment, frozen in place, unable to move.

Then she starts crying.]

I thought you were dead!

[what a terrible joke to make!!! even maya has enough self-awareness to feel bad when the other girl starts crying and she puts her hands on undine's shoulders]

[Yes!! She's initially surprised, (because she's not used to getting non Mia hugs, let's be real), but after a second she hugs Undine back]

Well, it did happen -- I didn't know the Composer was gonna pull my bacon out of the fire. I really thought I was done, too!

But after a moment, Undine will pull away to look at Maya in surprise.]

You don't know why they did that either? They didn't explain that?

.... I think they were short-staffed. To be honest, it all seems pretty weird to me.

That's my guess.... but I could be way offbase. The Composer was suuuuper mysterious and smugsmiley about it, so I really didn't get much in the way of info....

Super mysterious and smugsmiley kinda sums it up.... [she doesn't really want to talk shit about someone who saved her but she is still kind of a mischievous little shit so]

Kinda hard to talk to, too. I mean -- don't get me wrong. I'm grateful to still exist and all, but boy is trying to get straight answers frustrating.

I do appreciate that too. Even if this game is...weird. But if you're new then you probably don't have anything to do with that.

Yeah. Trust me, if I had a say, I'd be running things waaaaay different than this.

The ones I was in were too. Have you ever seen a 'magical girl' show? The conductor was reeeeeally into those and made her games like that.

Oh! Like anime? That's pretty funny --- so were the missions all about finding the perfect transformation or something?

Aaah, not quite. Those were automatic. It was more like...mmm...growing as a person? Both physically, from fighting monsters, and mentally, from beating the challenges. Some of them were pretty weird, like abstract puzzle dungeons you had to fight through only to realize that the real miniboss was your own anxiety.

[She. Might have had to do that one before.]

Oh! So it was about finding your inner strength! That's a really good Game! Learning about yourself and growing as people and looking super cute!
