Well, that sucked! That might be your first thought when you open your eyes to find yourself in a lavishly decorated room with a nice, soft bed. Or maybe you’re thinking about something else, it doesn’t really matter, since the only important thing right now is that you’re alive. Sort of. You’re still dead, but you also still exist, so that’s better than nothing. Whenever you decide to leave the room to venture out into the rest of the building, you’ll find that… hm. You sure have found yourself somewhere interesting, and there are plenty of places to explore. Foods from all of the weeks prior can be found in the hotel’s kitchen, as well as an entertainment center in the next room; just because you’re dead-dead doesn’t mean you can’t still have fun while the Reaper’s Game continues. Dare you try your luck with the ice cream machine in this weird place…? Or do you explore the mysterious board game that rests on the lobby’s table? Nothing’s stopping you. You’re absolutely able to leave the hotel, by the way. As soon as you step outside, you’ll find yourself in whatever area is currently open to the remaining Players for the current week. The only thing is, in addition to being invisible to the shadowy denizens of the RG... it seems you can’t interact at all with your fellow active Players in the UG, either. Weird! But that’s okay, you’re not totally alone in this limbo-squared! There are others around who you can interact with, and you might recognize them as the other people who have been Erased during the course of the game. In fact, there’s one rather special resident of this place... it’s none other than Dahlia Hawthorne. You might remember her as Utena Tenjou’s murderer from the first week! Upon seeing you, she smirks, welcoming you to the party. “Did you really think you'd seen the last of me? Welcome to the Under-Underground—the loser’s playground, a failure like the rest of us,” she taunts, swirling the teacup in her hand with an almost gleeful look in her eyes. Then, as if to preempt whatever the new arrivals wish to respond with, she rolls her eyes and adds, “The stupid name wasn’t my choice, by the way. As if I’d choose something that dumb to preside over.” ![]() private conversations ☠ murder proposals ☠ money full nav |

[ She's sad to see her here, she can't offer much comfort but— ]
None of this is ideal, but it's clear as day— you are very much loved.
no subject
[ but eleanor says...
that.
and monika stops breathing, her brows knit together and a switch is flicked on - her vision goes blurry. ah. this happened before. ]
...I am?
no subject
You are.
[ Something turns in her stomach— sympathy and nausea. She knows what its like, to want so deeply to be loved and not being able to quite understand what it means to have it. ]
After the past few weeks, I'd like to think I've become rather skilled in the art of observing. You are loved by many and in many different ways. I think all who love you would have wanted you to live— but those who do and are here with you are likely grateful for your presence. And.. those who you've left behind must miss you terribly...

her breathing is shallow, and it's now, only now, that her tears fall. she wore a brave face her whole execution, but here, with eleanor reminding her of all these people who love her -
monika crumbles.
sinking to her knees, she hides her face in her hands, and cries. ]
I loved them, too! I loved them all so much that I had to die! I really think it was the right thing to do - I... I want them all to get a second chance!

One whimper, one tear— just one, and Eleanor falls with Monika. Her own tears roll down her face, angry and warm, but her hands pull at Monika's so she can wipe the water from her eyes with her thumbs. ]
It's no wonder.. no wonder they all loved you as much as they did— will continue to love you as much as they do.
[ She's run out of tissues, but she wipes back Monika's tears with the sleeve of her jacket. Or rather, Shinssin's jacket. ]
They were lucky to have known you. I am lucky to know you.

... she smiles. ]
That's... his, isn't it?
no subject
Oh, um.. yes.
[ Sniff ]
It is.
[ She speaks almost like she'd forgotten she was even wearing it. It's all but become a part of her now. ]
no subject
[ she's smiling, though. ]
Wish I could tell him you're still wearing it.

[ She cringes a bit, but despite that she instinctively pulls the jacket closer around her. ]
If you must tell him anything, let it be something that helps him win. His head is already filled with enough foolish thoughts, there's no reason to add more to the pile.

[ monika smiles. ]
I think this love is more like a revolution than a downfall, though. With the way that man is... he'll stop at nothing until he is with you, again.
no subject
How do you know—
[ It's meant to be comforting, the things Monika says, but they just make the nausea worse. ]
You can't know— how long, why would anyone fight so hard for someone they barely know? Someone who has done so little for them— everything I did, everything he says I did is no different from what you all have given him.
[ Her face is red, surely a little scarred from the way she scratches at it. ]
Please stop— I've only just started to let myself forget.

monika raises a hand, and pulls eleanor's own hands down. puts them at her side, and smiles apologetically. ]
I know, because I have been with him every day for several weeks. You know... he hurt my heart quite a lot. He called me his second best girl. Second, me? And you... were the first.
That was only a week ago, I believe...
Well, I'll stop there. But I want you to know how loved you are, too.

But something else bubbles in her chest, a cruel sort of satisfaction (almost happiness, but not quite). Because maybe, just maybe, that means he misses her as much as she misses him.
Maybe, he will at least wait to forget her until she has passed on from this place. ]
He tried.. he wanted me to know too. But I couldn't.. I didn't want to know. Because when he told me he loved me, I was afraid for the first time in a very long time.
[ She can't help the way the words tumble out. She is weak and these are burdens she has wanted to unload onto someone else for a very long time. ]
The sight of him petrifies me. I've avoided him like the plague.. even in death, I'm too weak to offer him any of what he deserves.
no subject
but at this, she smiles. ]
That weakness is very girlish of you. Hold onto it tightly. No one is strong all the time. That is what makes you human, and lovely in your own right.
...As for him - he is weak in your presence. You have him in your grasp tightly. Do with that information what you will, haha.

It's suffocating— to want someone to be free and happy, but also to want to dig your nails into them and never let them go.. never allow them to let you go.
[ She shakes her head, dabbing at the tears with the sleeve of his jacket yet again. ]
I hate it.. on occasion I think, I may hate him as well. Because it's so much easier to do that.
