Magnus. [well. someone looks grumpy. as usual] Because of your performance this week, you've been chosen by the Composer to pick from one of these. [he gestures to the pin set] It's something that'll help out Players for the week. Once you pick one I can tell you what it does, otherwise it's up to your best guess. You can involve your Partner in the choice to pick, but first let me fucking describe this garbage because this is just how I have to do it.

[That said, he starts to gesture at each pin as he names them! The first has a simple design on it with two beams crossing each other to form an X.]

You've got Muramasa. Then there's Olly Olly Oxen Free Barrier. [this one has a cartoon design of a cute little Ox! Aww.] Moving on to Demon's Look. [This pin has a dark background broken by three yellow scratch marks, exposing something red underneath.] Over here is Delightful Beam. [the pin is a pale yellow with cute, pink hearts forming a beam] This one's Lolita Gifts [that pin depicts a gift box with definite gothic tones in the wrapping] and that one's One Chance, One Hope. [it's... a bunch of multicolored swirls with a bright question mark in the middle. okay.] Here's Kleptomania Rulez [six multicolored stars with dark jail bars in front of them] and finally we've got King's Treat. [It has a frozen crown on it!]

[Looking at the pins. Hmm. Demon's Look is clearly the most badass one, so he's inclined to go with that one, but what the hell.]

So, I'll take whichever one is a sword. But if it doesn't work that way and I have to do this shitty puzzle, I guess involve Taako.

Well, I can tell you that Delightful Beam sounds like some support bullshit for jackasses, Lolita Gifts is hot garbage, and Kleptomania Rulez just takes the fun out of stealing. King's Treat sounds, uh, gross.

Yeah. Though if it's a frozen theme, maybe it could be useful somehow? It's supposed to help the players, so it could freeze the game, or something?

[Looking over the pins again.]

Feel like Demon's Look or Muramasa are most likely to be a cool weapon. Olly Olly Oxen Free Barrier could be really good, though? Hide and seek plus a barrier, maybe it's something that could help us protect someone or stop a murder? One Chance, One Hope looks like the mystery option, it could be cool.

Well, I've never had a Barrier in my life, and I've been fine, so I'm, y'know, eh, on that one.

One Chance, One Hope seems interesting, though its name implies another layer of bullshit puzzles. Demon's Look probably has something with seeing true intentions, right? I'm only guessing, though, but uh, revealing, cutting away, etcetera etcetera. Muramasa is . . . ominous.

Oh. So maybe Demon's Look could ID a reaper? That definitely would be helpful. Especially if we fuck up the trial again, we've got a backup. On the other hand, I think there's already someone out there working on IDing Reapers, and if we could keep 'em safe, that'd be good...

Also, you have a barrier every day of your damn life! It's called me, and my loads of HP!

You got a hunch on what the X on Muramasa is? Maybe it lets us kill someone? But if it's that, it's a waste, because I can just kill someone analog.

An X and one name sort of implies a, uh, permanent sort of ending to me, homie. Maybe it's a, y'know, free shot sort of thing. So you don't get tried for murder if you axe someone, uuuuuuh, analog-style.

But I'd go with either One Chance, One Hope - seems kind of on brand, I suppose, just a vibe - or get your jollies with your barrier.

I guess my worry is that that one's going to turn out to just be a shitty clue! Boring! But oh well, let's flip a coin. Heads for Barrier, Tails for Chance.
