Hey, Players. And Reapers, for those of you who made it this long. Yeah, I know. After weeks of you finding my scrap paper (and why the fuck was it hanging out in those places, what the fuck), I’m finally addressing you directly! But why was this one a fucking puzzle? Well, why did you try to fucking gouge my eyes out, jackasses. Now we’re even. Anyway, FYI: this isn’t because I give a shit. I just think this is stuff you should know. One of the first things I asked myself when I first was “invited” (dying isn’t an invite) to participate in the Game was “why the fuck is this a thing.” Like, yeah, okay, fucking awesome that we’re getting a second chance on the bullshit that is living, real nice, but why? No one does anything for free. Who gives the Composer their powers? How long has the Game been a thing? Etc, etc. I was a curious and skeptical kid. What can I fucking say. We’re all very shocked by this. I’ve got the answers now, but what I’m about to tell you is stuff that normal Reapers don’t know. Ask your local Reapers. To be honest, even Conductors don’t usually learn this shit. The Game has a purpose. It’s not giving people a second chance. I mean, it’s a neat bonus if it happens, for people who aren’t me, but that’s not what it’s about. Now, either you found my paper about Souls or it’s fucking lost to the annals of time because I fucking hate this dimension, but let me tl;dr it. Every single living thing has Soul, Souls have power, power is not, in this instance, friendship, whatever. You get the gist. Souls go to recycling sometime. Like I said, if you wanted the tl;dr, you should’ve found my notes. Partially because I fucking want those back? Why did I even write these if they were going to be scattered to the winds. Who is fucking with my mail. Anyway, there’s the one thing Souls have that’s important: Imagination. The capital is fucking necessary. I’m not talking about your daydreams here, people. “Imagination is the key to the future”. That’s what I’ve been told. I can’t be more direct about it than that, but let me break it down a bit. The more Imagination around, the better. The Game is used to refine Imagination in Souls. The higher an Imagination, the more powerful a being. I’m sure this sounds vague as fuck to you, but I’m trying to simplify this shit for you idiots as much as I can. Imagination = Power. Games = More Imagination. Theoretically. The thing is, reincarnation is an option in Games because Imagination can also be spread in different ways. So what happens when the Games stop being worth it when it comes to input/output for Imagination? If you stop getting something worthwhile out of it, is the idea of giving people a chance (however small) worth it? I can’t answer that for you. I can’t spoon feed you all the answers. |
