week 3, monday
![]() |
![]() As with last week, the Reapers will wake suddenly, with their IC rulebook in their hand and open to a page in the back -- which contains a note that's only visible to them. "Reapers! Today's meeting will be at Shibu-Q Heads at 7 AM sharp! There's coffee and snacks for everyone, so don't be late!" When they arrive at the chain, at 07:00, they'll find themselves walking into a private area of the party supply store, with a door that closes and locks behind them once everyone is inside. It's roomy and filled with comfortable furniture, as well as various balloons and party decorations. There's an assortment of comfort foods along with with coffee and actual McFlurries this time. For once, Maya is not eating, she has a puppy on her lap and is looking a little more serious than usual. As always, music is on loop forever. "We should probably have another moment of silence for Ranpo and Junko. And--- after that, I've got some news about this week." ![]() game info ☠ setting ☠ statuses ☠ ic profiles private conversations ☠ murder proposals ☠ money full nav |

Maybe we should ask someone for favors to help make it more even. Right now we don't even know who these other reapers are, much less their goal. We need information on them.

[time to tell Undine what he learned from Max]
As soon as the trial ended, I grabbed Max to ask him about the other Reapers. He told me their win condition.
Eradicate us, and the game ends. After it ends, the Players will be judged. Since they're judged on performance? If they don't manage to catch any of those Reapers before the game ends, then I can only assume the Composer will judge them "badly."
[Max never denied it when he made that guess, after all. so while he isn't 100% certain, it's a pretty real fear lingering in the back of his mind. they can't die yet. they can't die, and give the other Reapers an unconditional victory at the expense of the players and those already Erased]
. . . based on the trial today, I have a list of people who may be a part of that group. But this is all speculation.

I...wow. I can see where that would end badly, yes. We really do need to help these players then.

[and he says that firmly! with every ounce of conviction he has]
Judging from the trial, and based on the people who pushed Enoshima to the exclusion of other cases? I think the other Reapers may be Jacopo, Monika, Mary, Orihara. . . I'm also thinking Hortensia, for her part in Ranpo's murder, even though I don't think Ranpo was killed for being a Reaper.
Magnus was also a little too certain that Ranpo was one of us, so I suspect him, too.

...mmm...I don't know about Mary. She seems like just a little kid, you know? Unless those reapers are like us in that a couple weren't as bloodthirsty.
no subject
And remember. Max is our host, and he's just a kid too.
no subject
...mmm. I would rather focus on one of the others to start with. We might have to work together, but I think we could get Izaya to talk.
[A pause, and then:]
Not in the way Junko meant, by the way. I think if we worked together and made him think he had the advantage against one of us while the other waited to step in if things got too dangerous, he would blab a lot.
no subject
[he gets, like. the opposite feeling]
Orihara seems pretty clever. He quoted Enoshima right back at her during the trial, remember?
no subject
[She doesn't want to hit 'betray' on Monika or Mary, she's sure Magnus isn't a reaper, and Jacopo frightens her. So Izaya is the best choice in her mind.]

I want to see how they react to my letter. They may all be willing to work with us, and it may be unnecessary to target them at all.
And I want us both to remember that we can't be 100% certain that he's another Reaper, too.
[and he hates the idea of just making shots in the dark, hoping they'll hit a Reaper. that's miserable]
no subject
...mmm. Yes, let's see how the letter goes.
no subject
Yeah.
And after we see their reaction, we can decide what to do.
no subject
[Well. They're dead men walking anyway, so.]
We can at least stop a couple of the worst Players there. To give the others a fair chance.
no subject
We'll mitigate the damage as much as possible, Undine. That's all we can do.
