#REAPER MEET UP

As with last week, the Reapers will wake suddenly, with their IC rulebook in their hand and open to a page in the back -- which contains a note that's only visible to them. "Reapers! Today's meeting will be at Shibu-Q Heads at 7 AM sharp! There's coffee and snacks for everyone, so don't be late!"

When they arrive at the chain, at 07:00, they'll find themselves walking into a private area of the party supply store, with a door that closes and locks behind them once everyone is inside. It's roomy and filled with comfortable furniture, as well as various balloons and party decorations. There's an assortment of comfort foods along with with coffee and actual McFlurries this time. For once, Maya is not eating, she has a puppy on her lap and is looking a little more serious than usual. As always, music is on loop forever.

"We should probably have another moment of silence for Ranpo and Junko. And--- after that, I've got some news about this week."

[ maya's going to offer her a hug, if she'll take it. ]

.... I'm sorry, Undine.

[She'll accept it, but she's. Kind of limp. Like she doesn't really have the energy for much of anything right now.]

[ Maya rubs her back, letting her take as long as she needs. ]

[Sorry Maya. She's just really sad and scared right now.]

I want to go home. I want to go back to my own game.

[ maya would never blame her for that. undine can take as long as she needs. ]

.... I know. I'm sorry.

[She does pull back a little bit so she can actually look at Maya now, though she hasn't let go yet.]

What are we supposed to do? There's still six weeks left, and there's horrible people among the players who are just going to keep killing innocent people! How can we protect the Players if we're erased?

Um, I dunno if it'll help much, but .... it's four weeks. [ roughly a month. which is still long, yikes, but- ]

It's okay, Undine -- just, calm down, take a deep breath. We can make a plan!

Four weeks is still a long time. We're at a huge disadvantage here, too. Not only do we HAVE to erase people, so we risk getting discovered every week, but we can get erased on killing night. And it sounds like there's people out there who can find out if someone is a reaper or not too.

Maya...how can we survive against something like that? It's like we were meant to die from the start.

..... I know. It's stacked against you guys hardcore. But! You remember what Max said, right? You two are not the only Reapers.

[ in fact, it's the reapers with the ability to check. ]

But the Players don't know that.

I suppose the people who can check other people could find one of the other reapers, but...

[...actually.]

Maya, are the other reapers required to kill, like we are?

They're not. Their job is to hunt you guys out specifically --- [ she looks sympathetic ] but they aren't forced like you guys are.

Buuut, again, the Players don't know that.

[Just. This look.]

Okay, but WHY are they hunting us specifically?

... Composer's orders. [ yikes. ] And, well, I think they have the wrong idea about you guys.

[Well that can be changed maybe, but.]

Did the composer not tell them that we were forced into this role?

Most likely not. And, um, well, if I'm honest.... not all of them would be necessarily sympathetic to that.

So what you're saying is, these other reapers are more like Junko than like Terra?

It's, um, a range from Terra to Junko. Like you guys.

How many Terras do we have versus Junkos?

I'd, um, be careful. That's all.

[That inspires so much courage and motivation in Undine. Just look at her. Look at how the optimism flows through her.]

But! That's not the whole team! So..... don't lose hope. Just proceed with caution, yeah?

[ look she can't give deets but she's trying. ]

I know you're trying to help, but...

[mrgh.]

Can we get something to at least make it less likely for us to die? I get why we have to be available at trials, but what about on killing nights? Can anything be done to give us a little help there?

[ the npc life is rough, undine. ]

Like what?

Ballistics armor?

[That is probably a joke since pff who even fights with guns here]

Or like...I dunno. Maybe some kind of warning on Fridays that someone is after us that night, and that we should be cautious? Maybe a count of how many people are awake during the curfew, or how many are out searching to erase someone?

[ there are force rounds in theory. ]

.... Okay. Let me talk to the Composer, and I'll let you know what they say next week.
